Can the high fever be associated with a simple gastroenteritis or can it be a bacterium? How do you distinguish between the two?

My 10 year old has been having violent diarrhea since last night. There is no blood in the stool. Intestinal cramps are present. Every time she eats, even just a puree, everything comes out within minutes. She has nausea without vomiting. She has a fever of 39.1 orally.

Hello ma'am, yes, gastroenteritis can cause fever frequently. Is your child able to eat, even if less than usual?

Hello,
I had to take her to the emergency room, I couldn't follow up with you on your question, but it was salmonellosis and she is now treated.
Thank you for your attention to my request.
