What if I take my Proscar (finasteride) every other day?

Finasteride is usually prescribed to control the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (called benign prostatic hyperplasia). Taking a tablet every other day instead of every day may reduce its effectiveness and cause your prostate to remain "large". Is it because of the side effects of the medication that you have decided to take it less regularly?

If this is the case, I recommend that you discuss it with your pharmacist, who will be able to see if an alternative treatment is possible.
