My son had a stomach bug on Thursday and Friday. Since then he has been complaining of stomach pains and last night he started to run a fever.

How has the situation changed since yesterday?

When fever follows a bout of diarrhea like this, we usually look for a consultation within 3 days to make sure a parasite is not involved in the diarrhea and fever. This is especially true if the fever is stubborn and won't go away after a few hours (hence my first question).

Note that this may just be a coincidence and your son is now covering up another infection (like a cold).
