what could it be? Sometimes, in the middle of the red patch, there is a white raised part. After a few minutes, it all disappears.

Be aware that many doctors may start offering teleconsultation soon. So, considering that your son's condition is not urgent in my opinion, it might be tempting to wait until you can speak to a doctor via teleconsultation.
