Hello,
Could this be an ingrown toenail? This happens when the nail gets into the skin. It can create pain, redness and swelling.
In such a case, you can try a few things:
Put a piece of dental floss under the nail where it enters the skin, if flossing doesn't create pain
Soak the foot in warm water with a little soap for 20 minutes, 3 times a day, for 2 weeks.
On the other hand, you will need to consult a doctor or pôdiatre if:
The situation does not improve despite the tricks or if it gets worse
If the redness and swelling are quite significant
If there is pus leaking out
