My 10 month old daughter is throwing up her medicine. It is the one we like to give for refractory ear infections. Do you have any tips?

Hello Ma'am,
Did she vomit it up only once, or did she vomit up all the doses?
And did she vomit it up immediately after taking it, or did it take several minutes before she vomited it up?

Considering that I didn't have the missing information to provide an accurate answer, here are some general tips to help in a situation like this:
  1. If the child vomits a dose now and then (but manages to keep most of it down), you could try putting it in milk at 0.5 mL per "sip" until the entire dose has been ingested. You could also blow very hard into his face within seconds of putting the antibiotic in his mouth, since this causes the swallowing reflex (swallowing) in young children.
  2. If the child has started to eat, you could try diluting the antibiotic in a small amount of his food and giving it to him by spoon. This trick rarely works, but it's worth the cost to try.
  3. If the child consistently vomits every dose, it's best to see if another antibiotic might be recommended.
Try it,
