I am very surprised to read that the doctor recommended such a thing. It has been known for a few years that taking Tylenol™ before vaccines for the before has the potential to impact the effectiveness of the vaccine by reducing the body's immune response triggered by the vaccine.

It's fine to give the dose after the vaccine, at the onset of symptoms (baby with bleeding, drinking less well, fever), but not before.
