My daughter has a cough and is congested. Can I give her some of the pumps I have?

My daughter had a bronchospasm about a month ago. The cough never really went away but I was told it was a possibility. However, when she sleeps, I can hear the secretions in her lungs when she breathes, something that had disappeared for a few days/weeks. Can I give her the pumps I have left to help her? I have an Alvesco pump and a Ventolin.

Good morning, ma'am,
Does she have any other symptoms such as a stuffy or runny nose, even a little? Have you tried anything for this problem?

Yes, she has a runny nose. The sinus rinse is a fight worthy of a Hollywood action movie so it's almost impossible so I make her blow her nose as often as possible

Thanks for the feedback! You did well to try nasal hygiene, it is the Cadillac of treatment for the symptoms it brings. In fact, it is the best way to avoid the flow of secretions from the sinuses into the throat, which causes coughing. You can do it as often as necessary during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime
  • A good way to get them used to it and reduce apprehension is to perform nasal hygiene in the bath.
No syrup can help effectively, they have not demonstrated a greater effectiveness than drinking more fluids.
As for the inhalers, there is not enough information to adequately answer your question, so you will have to contact the pharmacist who served them.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
