My daughter has a red ear and she scratches often. She doesn't seem to have any pain when I tap her. What should I do?

Hello Ma'am,
How old is your daughter? And how long has she had these symptoms?

She is 21 months old. She's been scratching since Thursday.

Thank you for these details.
In such a case, there is no need to worry at this time. A doctor will be consulted if you see that your daughter's ear seems to start to hurt, or if she starts to run a fever.
If she bathed or got her head wet last week, the scratching may just be the result of water in the ear. In such a case, you can take 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and dilute it with a cup of water (250 mL). With a dropper, put 2 drops in the ear morning and evening. This could help to get the water out, but more importantly will reduce the risk of the ear becoming infected (swimmer's ear).
