My daughter has been taking metformin for 2 months, she has had diarrhea every morning since... is this normal? Should she consult her doctor?

Hello, thank you for your question!
Would it be possible to know what dose your daughter is currently taking, and if she is taking any other medications?

She takes 2 tablets in the morning and 2 in the evening (4x500g) and she also takes Mylan difedipin for pressure 300mg once a day (but her pressure doesn't really drop)

Thanks for the clarification!!!
I invite you to contact his pharmacist: he might be able to adjust the dose downward, even if temporarily, to find a dose that is both effective and better tolerated. Metformin has a multitude of benefits, not only for diabetes, and it would be a shame to stop it before trying to lower it.
Your pharmacist will be able to pass on the information regarding the adjustment (if deemed necessary) to her doctor, and will be able to do a personalized follow-up on your daughter's needs.
As for her blood pressure, we are indeed a little more "aggressive" in the treatment of blood pressure in people with diabetes because of the higher risk of complications. I also invite you to talk to your pharmacist who could monitor your blood pressure and make recommendations to the prescriber if necessary.
I hope I have been helpful and remain available if you have any further questions!
