This is often viral in origin, like a cold that has "gone up" in the eye

It usually goes away on its own after 5-7 days

Just monitor the situation and use a wet towel to clean up when there is build up, being careful not to reuse or share.

If the situation persists for more than 7 days without improvement or if other symptoms occur, you should consult a doctor.
