Hi, I gave my disabled daughter a sinus rinse this morning and she keeps telling me that she got water in her ear. I read your solution of closing the mouth, pinching the nose and blowing but she is not able to do it because of her disability, she doesn't understand. Do you have another solution please?

Hello Mrs.,
In order to better understand the situation, would it be possible to know what her symptoms are and how long she has been experiencing them, if she is currently taking other medications, if she has any allergies, intolerances or contraindications?

of course, she has a good flu and I introduced the sinus rinse to relieve the cough. I do it morning and night. It works, the cough is better and her nose is no longer congested but every time she tells me: water in the ear. She is handicapped and unable to close her mouth, pinch her nose and blow so I look for a solution. I make sure that her head is well bent forward but the problem persists. No allergies or contraindications ... thank you very much!

Thanks for the information!
Aside from the valsalva maneuver, you can try a decongestant nasal spray like Drixoral or Dristan from a certain age. This is used for a maximum of 3 to 5 days and can help with the sensation of pressure or water in the ear. I suggest that you discuss this problem with your pharmacist who can suggest and personalize such a treatment for her and ensure a close follow-up with her.
