Hello,
My 3 year old daughter has pimples near her neck and on her ears, she says it stings, what could it be? She doesn't have them anywhere else. She has 3 brothers and they don't have anything, so possibly nothing contagious.
Thank you!

Good morning, ma'am,
If the lesions are located on the neck and nape of the neck, is it possible that she came into contact with an irritant, such as soap, shampoo, new detergent, cream, clothing, bedding or other?
How long have you noticed this?
Have you tried anything about this problem?

I just noticed while tying her hair. I noticed she is scratching the back of her head too, maybe a new shampoo I tried johnson and johnson. Should I give her benadryl?

Thanks for the feedback!
Benadryl can help with the itching, but has the drawback of causing drowsiness. I would reserve it especially if a very large area of the body is affected
You could try it if you wish. I suggest a fragrance-free moisturizer like Aveeno as a first step, which can be applied as often as needed for itching.
I also suggest avoiding soaps in the affected area for now, and avoiding rubbing the skin too vigorously to dry it. Instead, lightly tap to leave a thin layer of moisture and apply moisturizer quickly afterwards.
We will try to avoid the suspected shampoo :)
I hope this was helpful, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
