Cough for 2 weeks in an 8 year old child?

My 8 year old daughter has been coughing every day at the same time for over 2 weeks. What should I do? It happens every day around 1pm. She starts coughing every 5 minutes and it can last for an hour or two. But the rest of the day she is fine

Hello, does your daughter have any other symptoms, such as a runny or stuffy nose?

No other symptoms. She just coughs every day at the same time of the day. It's always around 1pm, she coughs every 5 minutes and it can last for an hour or two. The rest of the day she is fine

I was asking if she has any other symptoms because when the cough appears so regularly it could be a reaction to exposure to an allergen. Is it possible to determine what might be involved, such as an animal, a particular activity?

We do not have any animal at home. For her activities we do not go out, she plays in the house. It's really weird

Thank you for the clarification. If your child is not taking other medications, a trial with an anti-histamine such as Reactin, Aerius or Claritin (all available in liquid form for children) could be tried for 5 to 10
days. However, please keep a diary of the exact time and activities your child undertakes or has undertaken when the cough starts, as these are sometimes details that escape the eye
If the symptoms persist for another week or get worse, you should see a doctor. I invite you to contact your pharmacist who will suggest the product according to the inventory and the appropriate dose.
