My 2 year old daughter has a strange sleeping ritual: she rocks her body to sleep and sometimes bangs her head. Is this dangerous?

Hello,
It is true that there is a fear of a blow to the head in a child of this age. However, this applies especially to the situation where the child would fall from a height (more than 50 cm) on his head. A swinging child is unlikely to be injured. Therefore, there is no need to worry about this situation.

Perfect thanks, and is this common as a ''ritual''? I find it very strange, I've read a lot about it and it's explained that it's often a way to calm down, etc.. and sometimes a symptom of autism

For now, there is no need to worry. The doctor could tell you more about these rituals, since he or she is the diagnostic expert. You could talk about it at your next appointment. 😊
Happy evening,
