My 4 year old daughter has been having severe headaches for 5-6 days. What medication can I give her to reduce the pain?

Hello,
It is not uncommon to see headaches in children. However, when they are described as intense and persistent, it is recommended to get a doctor's opinion, especially to make sure there are no other explanations for these symptoms. The presence of other symptoms, such as visual "auras", nausea/vomiting, dizziness or a change in general condition are red flags that would require prompt attention. In the meantime, the use of Tylenol or Advil, as needed, may be options to help relieve the child. Your pharmacist will be able to tell you the dose based on the child's weight in addition to verifying that these medications are safe based on the child's clinical profile.
I hope I have answered your question.
