My 19 year old daughter has a sore throat, runny nose for 2 days but no fever. What to do (COVID)?

Was in contact with another student who returned from South America during Spring Break. Should she consult or stay home for 14 days? Thank you

Hello Ma'am,
In the absence of fever, and if this person who has returned from travel has not been confirmed to be infected with COVID, there is no need for you to be concerned at this time (nor to do voluntary isolation).
If the situation should change, I recommend that you call 1-877-644-4545. The staff on the other end of the line will direct you to the nearest screening clinic and make an appointment for you (this is why you should not go directly to the clinics).
Note that anyone who has been in close contact with someone who is recommended for screening should also be screened. By close contact, we mean that they have spent more than 4 hours in the same room as a person to be screened, or has been in direct contact (kissing, talking) with that person.
If you are recommended to go to a screening clinic, I would recommend that you get there without taking public transportation.
Happy day!
