My 3 year old daughter (36 pounds) reacts very strongly to insect bites and swells up really badly. What can I do about it?

I give her benadryl for children and nothing changes. She has a sting on one eye and it is so swollen that it is completely closed.

Hello Ma'am,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
There is nothing else that can be done when a child has been stung. The Benadryl™ and the application of a cold washcloth are really the actions to take when this happens. Benadryl™ can be repeated 3 times throughout the day if the eye is still completely closed by the swelling.
On the other hand, as a preventative measure, you can get a DEET product if you haven't already and use it on your child before taking them outside (spray on their clothes, preferably).
Note that if the child's eye is completely closed for more than 24 hours, it is best to consult.
Happy day,
