My daughter (5 years old) has had a hacking cough for 3 days, without fever. She tells us that she has a sore throat. When should I consult a doctor about a sore throat?

Good evening Madam,
At this age, in the absence of fever, we usually wait almost 2 weeks before consulting. Indeed, cough and sore throat are very very often of viral origin (a virus) and it is time and rest that will get rid of the symptoms.
That said, it is of course necessary to relieve it now. To do this, in addition to the usual Tylenol™ and Advil™ to soothe her throat, I recommend practicing the Sinus Rinse™ twice a day. This will go a long way in reducing the cough (if not eliminating it completely), usually within 2 days. I also recommend giving her a spoonful of warm honey before bedtime and during coughing spells to soothe her throat.
Good evening,
