Is it very dangerous to transmit oral herpes to a 2-month-old infant?

Hello, yesterday I started to have a tingling on my upper lip and this morning I have small bubbles that appeared (so first cold sore) ... Yesterday I gave my two year old daughter (on the mouth) and my two month old daughter (on the cheek and neck only) Is there any risk? I am worried. Thank you very much.

Hello Ma'am,
There is a risk, yes. However, it is impossible to precisely define that risk (high? low?). In my opinion, it is most likely a low risk, considering that you did not kiss a mucous membrane (lips).
If the child did catch it, he/she should have lesions on the areas that came in contact with your mouth within the next 2-3 weeks.
Until then, there's nothing you can do except wait and see (and no more pecking while the lesions are present, of course).
