Is there a suppository version of a baby laxative?

9 month old baby has pain in passing stool. The doctor prescribed lax-a-day, but baby is not drinking any other liquids than the Mother's milk at the breast.

Hello !
You can try using a glycerine suppository for children. The suppository will trigger a contraction of the rectum that will allow the evacuation of the stool. The suppository can be used once a day as needed. However, it is not a long-term solution. The suppository should not be used for more than 5 days in a row.
I also want to reassure you that Lax-a-day is the first choice for treating constipation in children over 6 months. So, if the suppository doesn't work, I suggest you try diluting the Lax-a-day powder in a bottle with milk.
I understand that your child is only taking breast milk at this time. You can try to introduce water gradually (15 ml 1 to 3 times a day)
Another measure you can try is to move your child's legs as if they were pedaling. This will increase the motility of the intestine
Finally, if your child has more than 4 days without a bowel movementi would advise you to see a doctor
I hope I have answered your question correctly,
