I am pregnant and I was told to increase the dose of Synthroid, is this normal?

Hi, I am 9 weeks pregnant and I have been taking synthroid for a long time and it is controlled, I am only seeing my maternity doctor at 10 weeks and 6 days Since I was followed in fertility the tech told me to double my synthroid only weekend until I see my doctor. Is this normal?
