Is it possible to use cannabis and an antidepressant? Trintellix 5mg for me. Thank you for your help!

My background is 'clear'. I have been smoking for 4 years fairly irregularly. My cannabis was purchased online, fairly reliable cannabis. I started Cipralex 10mg about 1 month ago and switched to Trintellix because the other one had increased my anxiety and insomnia tremendously. I had untreated depression 2 years ago. I miss smoking and was wondering if it was possible. Thanks a lot!

Good evening,
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for informing yourself about cannabis in this way.
Strictly speaking, there is no interaction between cannabis and Trintellix, at least from a pharmacological standpoint. That said, it is possible that the combined use of these two products makes the effects of cannabis more significant. It should be noted that Trintellix is a relatively new drug and that new interactions may be found in the next few years.
You should also be aware that cannabis use, although it may help with insomnia and anxiety, should not be used for that and may even make a relapse of depression possible (due to its depressant effect on the central nervous system). This is especially true for young people like yourself (under 21).
Hopefully you have been helpful.
