Is this a sign of conjunctivitis? Should I see a doctor?

My 2 month old son has had a virus (nasal secretions and cough) for over 6 weeks. Today he has a runny eye (greenish sticky secretions) but very little redness.

Good morning, Madam,
In general, greenish discharge from the eye can be an indicator of bacterial conjunctivitis or an ongoing infection. Thus, we want to make sure that the problem is well treated since newborns are still developing, so I invite you to go see a doctor or an optometrist.
While waiting for your consultation, you can make cool water compresses to relieve the child's discomfort.
I hope I have answered your question,
