Is swollen tonsils a symptom of covid?

A few days ago, I had allergies (runny nose and itchy eyes when I wake up or go to bed). Since yesterday my tonsils hurt and are swollen, I have trouble swallowing and my ears hurt too. So I'm pretty sure it's tonsillitis according to the symptoms I found on the internet. However, I just took my temperature and I have a fever (38.6). Fever is a symptom of tonsillitis, but should I worry about the covid?

No, there is no need to worry in my opinion. The symptoms you describe are indeed consistent with those suffered by people who have tonsillitis. Also, COVID19 doesn't usually cause a sore throat like this (it's more like a cough).
