Can the pharmacist prescribe contraception?

29-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello I am a 28 year old woman I was prescribed linessa 28 after an abortion as a contraceptive pill for 2 months but it gives me a lot of pimples and I have noticed that I am losing a lot of weight since taking this contraception. I have taken blood tests and nothing abnormal. Is there a contraceptive method that the pharmacist can prescribe me that would make me gain a little more weight?

Hello, Mrs.!
Sorry to disappoint you, hormonal contraceptives do not cause weight gain
That being said, if you do not tolerate the one that was prescribed for you, your pharmacist will be able to contact the prescriber to suggest alternatives.
Sincerely
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
