Can taking doxycycline delay menstruation?

28-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, can taking doxycycline for a uterine infection cause a delay in your period? Day 6/7 of taking the antibiotic. My period which has been very regular for several months should have started this morning. Trying for a baby, tests negative. Thank you

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
Antibiotics do not cause menstrual cycle disruption or delayed periods, but fighting an infection can have that effect. This does not necessarily indicate a problem and usually clears up on its own.
I hope I've been helpful, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
