can i take my vyvanse medication if i am breastfeeding?

Vyvanse has not been studied in breastfeeding so we don't know the percentage of the drug that gets into breast milk.
As for other medications in the same family(ex: methylphenidate), references say it is best to use a short-acting medication (ex: Ritalin) and take the dose directly after feeding if the interval between feedings is long enough.
I think it would be prudent to discuss this change with the doctor!
