Can I take muscle relaxants and Advil at the same time before bed?

He has a bad lower back and occasionally takes muscle relaxants and was wondering if he could also take Advil to reduce inflammation before bedtime...he is not on any medication and is very healthy

Anti-inflammatory drugs such as libuprofen (Advil) can indeed be taken with a muscle relaxant (orphenadrine, cyclobenzaprine or methocarbamol). I suggest that you validate that the "muscle relaxant" he is taking does not already contain libuprofen (ex: RobaxPlatin or a generic, often in purple boxes). If he were to take libuprofen more regularly, it would be interesting to monitor his blood pressure from time to time and have a blood test to make sure his kidneys are working perfectly well too
