I have been having headaches since recently taking Concerta. I should mention that I get migraines on occasion. Is this a sign that the medication is not working for me?

First time user, 18 mg DIE I take effexor and topamax and quetiapine too. I have migraines sometimes and Arnold's neuralgia. I don't feel that much improvement with the medication yet.

Hello,
First of all, do you have any other symptoms that accompany your headaches?
How long have you been taking Concerta?
Headaches can indeed be related to Concerta; they often occur within the first few days of taking the medication. It may take a few days for the effect to appear, and the dose may need to be adjusted depending on the effect and your tolerance.

The first day (Monday), I felt dizzy and nauseous, I am hotter and less hungry. I still feel more awake than usual. Only, the headaches worry me. So I will watch how it evolves over time. I take since 3 days the concerta. The whole thing worries me a bit.

Are there any other symptoms with the headaches, such as a change in vision or tingling? Normally, headaches decrease within a few days of starting Concerta. If this effect persists, talk to your pharmacist, who can suggest other alternatives to your doctor
