My baby's face is swollen when I give him Advil?

34-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, my 10 month old baby is teething. Last night I gave her advil at 11pm and she also had some at 11am the morning before. This morning at 6am I feel like her face is swollen. It's not the first time that we have the impression that the face swells following the advil but it's never very clear. Is it possible that this is an allergic reaction to advil/ibuprofen?

Hello, thank you for your question!
If in doubt, it would be prudent to avoid giving Advil until an allergy to it is confirmed or ruled out. For teething pain, an excellent alternative is Tylenol (Tempra, acetaminophen and others). Your pharmacist will be able to tell you the dosage according to the concentration of the product chosen.
I hope I have helped you, and I am available if you have any other questions!
