Is creamy white discharge a sign of pregnancy?

I have had unprotected sex and am worried about a potential pregnancy. I have menstrual cramps, but I am 4 days late with my period. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and the results were negative.

Hello,

According to a medical reference site, Up to date, a change in the appearance of vaginal discharge is not considered a sign of pregnancy. You've made the right decision to take a pregnancy test.

If it is negative, you can rely on it, but there is always a risk that it is a "false" negative. In this case, to be sure, if you do not have your period in 3 to 4 days, you can redo the test with the first morning urine which is more concentrated. What happens is that at the very beginning, the concentration of pregnancy hormone is not high enough in the urine for the pregnancy test to hate it.

Watch for other pregnancy symptoms such as breast pain and morning sickness.

From another point of view, the change in vaginal discharge may indicate something else, such as a vaginal infection. The most common is yeast vaginitis. It is characterized by a whitish, cottage cheese-like discharge. Often, redness and itching may appear. Watch for these symptoms, and go to a pharmacy. Over-the-counter treatments are available for yeast vaginitis, especially if pregnancy is excluded and symptoms become bothersome.
