Hello,
Long term use of Tylenol Night is not recommended for 2 reasons
First, Tylenol Night contains 2 active ingredients: Acetaminophen, a pain relieving ingredient found in all Tylenol products, and Benadryl. Benadryl is added because it creates drowsiness as a side effect. However, this drowsiness effect disappears after 3 to 4 consecutive days, as the body gets used to this effect. Therefore, the long-term use of Tylenol Night is ineffective in terms of sleep aid. In this regard, it is more economical to take regular Tylenol if the pain relief effect is only desired
On the other hand, the Benadryl ingredient in Tylenol Night is associated with several side effects such as constipation, urinary retention, dizziness, dry mouth and dry eyes. These effects are increased in the elderly, so we do not recommend its use
