Am I having a serotonin syndrome? I think it's too long to lower my cypralex.

Hello, I have started to cross over with my antidepressant cypralex to trintillex. I was at 30mg of cyparlex ..I am now at 15mg of cypralex and 10mg of trintillex since 2 weeks. I also take 300mg seroquel xr. I have been fine for the last week but this weekend, nausea, my brain is like on a high but I am also very tired...I even threw up. I feel that all this is too much. But my doctor still leaves me at 15mg cyparlex and 10mg trintillex for 3 weeks...but I want to decrease my cyprlex to 10mg right away. What do you think? I'm not feeling well ..I feel like I'm overexcited.

Hi, although I don't necessarily think it's a serotonin syndrome, trintellix often causes nausea, changing doses too quickly could cause side effects as well
When do you take trintellix?
If we decrease the cipralex without changing the trintellix, it may affect depression or anxiety. How is the disease control now?

I am making a change over several weeks ..I was at 30mg cypralex 5 weeks ago ..I decreased to 25mg for 1 week ..then I decreased to 20mg cypralex and integrated 5mg trintillex for 10 days ..now I am at 15mg cyrpalex and 10mg trintillex for 20 days ..my doctor wanted to leave me like that for another 1 week ..I had 8 good days..but I didn't sleep much and I had less anxiety..and now for the last 3 days ..fatigue and anxiety are back.... I wonder if I should lower my cypralex faster..because I feel overexcited and too anxious..maybe the two together at this dose is too much? I was supposed to talk to my doctor next week but I'm thinking of calling him tomorrow for an emergency...what do you think?

My condition right now I have a lot of anxiety...but I had a nice week without anxiety where I was able to do a lot of things...I wonder if I did too much...and that my energy came back flat plus the anxiety of the departure

You should not be discouraged. As we are adjusting the dose, it is possible that the anxiety will come back if the increase is done very slowly
You could start taking trintellix at the end of the day to limit the side effects (nausea and fatigue).
One could actually try to go to the next step right away. If we decrease cipralex without increasing trintellix, you risk having more anxiety since we will lose the effect of one of the treatments without having the other treatment to compensate.
Talk to your pharmacist, he will be able to see the exact adjustments to be made with you before your medical appointment. I reassure you that the combination of the 2 is not too much, it is simply that as we are adjusting, it is possible that the anxiety becomes less well managed. If you tolerate the trintellix well, a faster increase is possible to have an effect on the anxiety more quickly.
Good luck

Yes, you can take it. It may help with anxiety while the adjustments are being made.
