Exceeding my child's omega-3 dose?

2 year old child. I gave omega-3 this morning at 1tbs (14ml). I realized that the dose is more like 1tbs (5ml)! Risk? Healthy child 2 years old at 22lb. No health problems

Hello. In order to answer your question, would it be possible to know the concentration of the supplement you are using? How many mg/ml or mg/5ml?

This is the NutraSea Kids brand
EPA +DHA 520mg
+ 500 IU VIT. D per/ rsp

Thanks for the information. The majority of references I have found indicate that children and adults can tolerate higher doses of EPA and DHA. That being said, the fact that you tripled the dose, just once, should not cause any complications in your child, other than perhaps gastrointestinal discomfort: cramps, nausea, gas, diarrhea, possibly. Just keep an eye on your little one today and tomorrow, and seek medical attention if you see any severe symptoms (e.g. vomiting with inability to hydrate). As for the dose of vitamin D, it too should not be a problem, after a single administration.
As a precaution, do not give this supplement for 5 to 7 days.
I remain available if you have any questions
