Hello,
Chest pain is a rare but serious side effect. Nausea is also among the side effects and usually this is transient, taking it with food in the morning can help. My first instinct would be to stop vyvanse for a few days if possible (weekend) to see if the side effects go away. If the chest pain persists I would consult a doctor quickly. If the chest pain goes away, a change of molecule could be considered.

Hello Mrs. Emond,
Thank you for your response. Friday morning, the day after the incident, we went to the doctor who did a test to see if my son's heart was beating normally and it appears that it is. The doctor recommended to continue the medication and said that if it happens again, to go back to the hospital to have his heart evaluated for 24 hours (in English she used the term ''Holter'').
The day of the orginal discomfort was last Thursday, when my son had just started the medication again after almost a year after taking it. He had taken it on Wednesday and Thursday only. Friday morning when we went to the emergency room, as recommended on 811, we had not given it to him. Saturday and Sunday we did not give it to him. Monday he took it, and this morning (Tuesday) my son said he felt a tightness in his chest. I asked him to tell his teacher if it was tight today, and that we would go check quickly if he had any discomfort. We still gave him the vyvanse as the doctor told us to do. I feel worried. I hope everything will be okay. If you have any other advice, I would love to hear it.
Thank you so much,
Andrée-Anne

Hello,
I think your doctor gave you good advice. It's a good thing you told him to talk to his teacher if he's still having discomfort. If that is the case, you should indeed do a little more testing. Does your child have anxiety? Anxiety sometimes presents itself like this. If he is anxious you should see if the symptoms of discomfort are related to stressful events for him or if it happens even if he is very calm.
For now, you are doing everything right just see if he will have a good day :)
Courage, and don't hesitate to contact me again if needed
Marie-Pierre
