I am 30 weeks pregnant. Is it possible to apply a menthol gel 2.0% (ex: physiomenthol) on back pain? Thank you

Hello, thank you for your question!
Unfortunately, there are few studies that have evaluated the safety of topical Menthol preparations during pregnancy. The few data we have are reassuring, but there are better studied alternatives for pain relief during pregnancy
The first option would be to use Tylenol (acetaminophen) at an optimized dose of 1000mg up to 4 times a day. As for topical preparations, regular Myoflex (triethanolamine salicylate 10% - green box) would be the preferred option. It is important not to apply heat at the same time as the application of Myoflex and not to massage vigorously to avoid increasing the amount of preparation absorbed by the skin
Massage without the application of medicated cream could also be beneficial. There are massage therapists who specialize in treating pregnant women
I hope to have answered your question and remain available for any additional information you may require!
