Hello, thank you for your question!
PEG-3350, marketed under the name Lax-A-Day, Restoralax and other brands, is both effective and safe during pregnancy. Your pharmacist will be able to tell you how to take the medication depending on the brand you choose. Also, I suggest that you drink plenty of fluids during the day and increase your fiber intake such as fruits and vegetables and whole grains to help soften the stool.
I hope I've been helpful, and I'm available if there's anything else I can do

Could Metamucil do? If so what kind? Thank you

Metamucil can help, but is slower to work. Also, it is important to drink a lot during the day if you are taking Metamucil or it could make the situation worse.
There are several types and flavors, with or without sugar, all equivalent. However, you should keep in mind to space Metamucil from your other medications by at least 3 hours.
Sincerely
