How do I know if I am pregnant quickly? And can stress cause delays?

19-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello I am a 17 year old girl. And I have a delay of menstruation of 5 days, it is not much but normally I have only maximum 2 days of delay. I'm having sex with my boyfriend so I did a pregnancy test but it was negative and I was wondering if there is any other way for me to know quickly if I'm pregnant or not... Because I have a bad feeling. But I've also been under a lot of stress in the last few weeks so I was wondering if the stress could have anything to do with the delays?

Good morning, ma'am,
A pregnancy test from the pharmacy will usually give a reliable result if it is done from the first expected day of menstruation
That being said, yes, an episode of stress, illness, fatigue, a change in schedule and others can delay the onset of menstruation.
If you are not menstruating, I suggest that you do another test 2 to 3 days after the first one.
I hope this has been helpful to you and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!

In the background for several months, at the end of November I would say I have red patches on my legs my arms on one hand and on my thighs the red patches are like crusting. I consulted my doctor who made me pass a test of the ringworm I believe that it is called. It was negative so he told me that it will pass and he told me to take benadryl to relieve the itching but it does not work at all I put several kinds of cream I do not know what to put or what to do.

I see!
This can often constitute dry skin. For this purpose, non-pharmacological measures should be tried first
  • apply a fragrance-free moisturizer such as Base Glaxal, Cerave, Cutibase or Aveeno among others, as often as necessary during the day, there is no maximum per day. As soon as the itching starts, apply the cream freely.
  • Use a fragrance-free soap like Dove. Avoid water that is too hot or too cold, and avoid rubbing the skin vigorously to dry it. Instead, lightly pat the skin to leave a thin layer of moisture and apply the moisturizer within 5 minutes of getting out of the shower.
I encourage you to try these steps and always carry a moisturizer with you. If you don't notice any improvement, I suggest you re-consult.
Sincerely
Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
