Can nitro be taken for pain in cases of renal colic?

Urinary lithiasis of 9 mm located in the left ureter between the kidney and the bladder. Waiting for a surgery in 4 weeks. I have Dilaudid 1mg but it doesn't do anything for me. To date, I have not had any colic, but if I do, can I take the nitro?

Hello,

Unfortunately, nitro will have no effect on your pain. Indeed, nitro dilates the blood vessels (where the blood circulates), so it has no effect on other types of pipes such as those of the bladder
