how do i know if effexor exists in a normal tablet or in a gelule?

The other antidep drugs I was taking before didn't do that to me, so I guess it's the gel that does it? i am taking effexor xr 150 mg and it makes me constipated and hard to digest. I take it in the middle of my meal in the morning... is it the medication itself that does this or the gelule around it? thank you. does it exist in a tablet?
