Does Effexor help with heat? If so, would increasing the dose of Effexor to 150 mg help? Any other tips?

HORMONOTHERAPY (anastrozole 1 mg) started on April 16, 2020. This is the second one I've tried. Too many side effects with the first one. I have been taking Effexor (112.5 mg) for several years. Since one week, I am much more tired, lack of motivation, change of mood I still have a lot of heat (evening and night) even if I take Pregabalin (150 mg).

Good evening ma'am,
Yes, Effexor can be used to decrease hot flashes.
However, a study that came out in 2000 had reported that increasing the dose from 75 mg per day to 150 mg per day did not increase the number of women who found the medication effective against hot flashes.
If you feel that Lyrica (pregabalin) is not effective enough, I recommend that you discuss this with your pharmacist. It would be best to stop it before increasing the dose of Effexor (in case you attempt the increase despite the study mentioned above).
Good evening,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
