I know I can't take over-the-counter medications to treat my cold, but can I take something other than hot water with honey, lemon and ginger? I am 14 weeks pregnant

Hello madam, would it be possible to know what your symptoms are exactly and since when?

dry cough, sore throat, stuffy nose and hoarse voice and even loss of voice and this for a few weeks it goes and goes. I feel like I'm carrying the same virus around but never get over it

Thank you for the information, I'm sorry for the delay in my response, I hadn't seen the notification!
For throat irritation, acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands) is still the best treatment, as well as lozenges like Halls or Fisherman's Friend for local relief.
For coughs, mucus discharge, and nasal congestion, I would opt for nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, you can reduce the backward flow of secretions, which often causes coughing.
I also encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
If you don't notice any improvement after 7 days, you should see a doctor.
I hope I've been helpful, so please don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
