If you haven't had pain with this partner in the past, then it's possibly because there is less lubrication during this menstrual cycle. It happens, and it's nothing to worry about.

It could also be because you hurt yourself with a tampon. Is this possible? Or do you think it's more likely due to lack of lubrication?
