If you have just returned from a trip, it is possible that these stomach aches are caused by a parasite or bacteria that you picked up during the trip. In such a case, you should keep your eyes open and avoid waiting too long before seeking medical attention if you have more than 5 diarrheas per day or fever or blood in your stool.

If you don't have any of these symptoms, it's best not to use Imodium™ for now, as it will increase your stomachache and cramps. Simply take Tylenol™ and keep yourself well hydrated. Also avoid irritating foods (fatty, acidic, spicy) to give your tummy a chance and replace these foods with broths or soups.

If your symptoms are still as present in 3 days, you will have to go see a doctor (more quickly if the symptoms described above appear).
