I have pain from my rib to my shoulder, what can I do?

I have a spot under my right rib that radiates to my shoulder. I have a fatty liver. Should I be worried? What should I do if the pain persists. For the moment I am taking aspirin

Good morning, ma'am,
How long have you been experiencing this pain? Is it due to a wrong movement, a shock/trauma, exercise or other?
Are you currently taking any other medication?
Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the feedback!
Could it be that the cough is the cause? If so, attacking the cough could possibly help reduce this pain
If you have a stuffy or runny nose, even a little bit, I would opt for nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, we can reduce their backward flow, which often causes coughing. It's a little unpleasant but it works wonders!
I also invite you to drink a lot of liquids, cold or hot depending on your preference.
If the pain (or cough) persists for more than a week or gets worse, or if other symptoms occur, it would be best to see a doctor for a thorough evaluation of your condition.
Finally, for pain, acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands) would be safer for you.
I hope I've been helpful, so please don't hesitate if you have any further questions!
