Severe tooth pain?

Question

I had a tooth removed on Friday and since then it is still bleeding a bit, very swollen and painful, I think the hole in the tooth is empty and I can't see a dentist, can I take oxycodone to relieve the pain?

If you have been taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and other companies) with unsatisfactory relief, yes, you can add 1/2-1 tablet of oxycodone, if it was originally prescribed for you . However, it will be important to contact your dentist as soon as his or her office opens for follow-up.
