My 14 month old daughter refuses to take her antibiotic for her ear infection?

My 14 month old daughter is currently being treated for an ear infection. She is taking amoxicillin combined with another antibiotic. The pharmacist mentioned the importance of taking all doses. If a dose is not taken in full (due to refusal or loss) is there any risk to the treatment? Thank you

Hi, thanks for your question!
If it is a single dose that was missed, lost or spit out, it is unlikely to affect the entire treatment. If this happens often, I invite you to contact your pharmacist to consider strategies to improve the acceptability of antibiotics; for example, dilute in certain foods, give the quantities gradually, change the flavor of the product, etc.
I hope this has been helpful to you, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions!

Thank you! Precisely we put it in food and she refused to take the food in question, but not those who did not have the medication (so not a question of appetite)

I see! In this case, your best solution is to contact your pharmacist for alternatives that may be suggested.
