How do I know if my child is getting the right dose of lansoprazole?

My child is 4 months old and weighs 14 lbs. He takes 1.6 ml / twice a day of lansoprazole (3mg/ml) solution because he is allergic to milk. For some time now, he has been having trouble feeding, he squirms and cries a lot.
