Can I give Baby Advil 2 hours after Tylenol? What is the right amount of Tylenol to give?

27 -year-old man2 years ago
My daughter has a high temperature, we consulted her and she has an ear infection and started her antibiotics this morning. She is still running a 40 fever and I would like to know if I can give her advil 2:00 after giving her tylenol since the fever is not going down and she is still crying. She is 21 months old and has been running a temperature since Thursday morning. She weighs 24.8 lbs and the tylenol is 40mg/ml. Thank you

Hello sir
It is not usually recommended to combine or alternate Tylenol and Advil for fever as one of the two should be sufficient. The important thing is to give the effective dose of Tylenol, as amoxicillin requires 48-72hrs for its effectiveness.
For Tylenol, are you sure the concentration is 40mg/ml?
Baby forms of acetaminophen are usually concentrated at 160mg/5ml, 80mg/ml, or 80mg/5ml.
For a child of 24.8 lbs (11kg), the dose of Tylenol is 165mg every 4 to 6 hours, for a maximum of 5 times per 24 hours.
If you confirm the concentration of Tylenol that you have, I could tell you the volume.
Sincerely
